Sarah Nation is a 2012 graduate of Indiana State University with a Bachelors of Arts in Music. While at Indiana State University, she had many valuable experiences, including playing for the ISU big band and jazz combos. She also holds a professional guitar cerificate from Berklee Online in Jazz Guitar.
Since relocating to Terre Haute in 2010, she has played for the Crossroads Repertory Theater, various cover bands, small group jazz ensembles, big bands, and Pinball Heroes - for which she wrote the material. She is currently playing with The Streamliners Band. Her wide range of musical experience gives her a broad understanding of the guitar and its place in popular, rock, folk, jazz, and classical settings. Sarah has taught private guitar lessons for fifteen years and continues to improve her pedagogical strategies every year. She enjoys teaching students of all ages, and has had success with students as young as four years old. Learning a few basics on guitar can go a long way towards personal enjoyment or its use as an accompaniment instrument. But for the student who wants to delve deeper, the opportunities are nearly limitless. Guiding students towards musical literacy enables them to continue to learn and grow on their own for the rest of their lives. (Minimum Age 5 years old)
