Max Goodwin - Guitar

Max Goodwin is a Terre Haute native who has been playing locally and regionally since 2014. As a teenager he studied under Dr. Brent McPike at Indiana State University, and from 2019 to 2022 pursued a degree in Jazz Guitar Performance at the IU Jacobs School of Music under the tutelage of jazz giant Dave Stryker.
He has experience in various settings, including pit orchestras (at ISU Crossroads Repertory Theatre), Jazz big bands and small combos (at IU Jacobs), and as a solo musician. While primarily a Jazz musician, he also has great love for Classical music, and an appreciation for all styles and genres. He is also a fledgling composer/arranger. Max believes strongly in the importance of theory and aural skills. He believes that developing an individual voice and a strong sense of musicality is more important than technical perfection. Most importantly, he believes that having a love of music itself is sufficient for anyone to achieve anything they set their mind to. |
