Dan Lauby - Drums
Dan Lauby has taught drums since 1977 and has taught in the Wabash Valley since 1985. Dan is a 1983 graduate of Murray State University where he received a Bachelor of Music Education degree. He continued his studies at Indiana State University to graduate in 1985 with a Master of Science degree in performance. Established in April 1985, he is the founder of The Drummer's Program and continues his work as the director and principal instructor of The Drummer's Program.
He is the author of Drumming with Understanding©, an introduction to drumming endorsed by many notable players and music institutions around the world including Andy Newmark, Vinnie Calaiuta, Ron Gannaway, Preston Stanfill, Conservatory of Music, Munich, Germany, Murray State University, and the University of Colorado. Additionally he has performed extensively as a freelance drumset player, proficient in jazz, rock and country. Artists and bands include Moonlight Jazz Orchestra, Henrici's Dinner Theatre, Sabactian, Keith Chism and Light, Marc Rogers and Hot Country, Slide Advantage, Randy Salman Quartet, Kitty Wells, Jean Shephard, Terre Haute Symphony Orchestra, Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra, and Owensboro Symphony Orchestra, among others. Dan Lauby is also an author for Modern Drummer magazine Teacher's Forum and a drum set clinician for Yamaha. Drum students may register online, but need to call/email to enroll. |
