Allison Mathews - Woodwinds
Allison is new to the Wabash Valley music scene and excited to begin helping musicians of all ages learn the flute, clarinet, and oboe. She recently moved back to Indiana after living in the Bay Area in California for 8 years. There she primarily taught flute lessons, juggling a schedule of beginning to adult students, and driving to each home. She also continued her studies on flute with Pamela Ravenelle and performed in MagicFlutes!, a 30-member flute orchestra. Every year they performed winter and spring concerts, and at other community events. Each summer the large ensemble was also invited by the San Francisco Flute Society to perform at Flutes by the Sea.
Allison graduated from Saint Joseph’s College of Rensselaer, Indiana in 2010 with a Bachelor’s in Applied Music. While a student her numerous music ensembles included being a founding member of the flute choir, wind ensemble, symphonic band, marching band, drum line and winter percussion, concert choir, chamber singers, and performing in many musical pits. Allison is enthusiastic about starting at Heartland Music Academy to help develop the skills and passions of woodwind players. |
