Orion Palmetto - Strings

My name is Orion Palmetto. I have been playing violin for 12 years. In my time playing, I have learned under Sarah Nation (Heartland), Jill Brewer (Woodrow Wilson), Rodney Foster (Terre Haute North), and Eric Rodhe (Indiana State). I have also worked with many ensembles and people in the Terre Haute area.

I have played for the Terre Haute Sinfonietta for 6 years, and have been first and second violin. I have played with Christie McPike of Terre Haute South for Christmas mass at St. Benedict’s, and have played numerous jazz gigs with Terre Haute North’s John Williams. Additionally, I have worked with CAYO and Crossroads Youth Orchestra, and helped with the Vigo County Theatre Arts summer workshop for six years.

I have taught lessons for about 6 years, usually going between students’ houses to instruct them on violin, piano and guitar. I am excited about instructing at Heartland Music Academy to reach out to new students, young and old, and help enrich our local music scene!​
