(Minimum Age 5 years old)
|
Hello, my name is Cora Roark. I am an aspiring music student who will be attending ISU for music education in the fall. I’ve been playing the violin since I was 10 years old and I’ve gone to state ISSMA contest 3 years in a row winning 2 golds and 2 golds with distinction. I’m a Senior honors student at Terre Haute North High School and I have been the concert mistress of the concert orchestra for 2 years under the direction of Rodney Foster. The Linda Luebke Strings Festival is an event that I have been an excited participant in since I was in middle school.
I’m also a dancer on pointe, tap, jazz, hip hop, contemporary and I was recently in the Ukrainian Ballet’s production of the Nutcracker. I enjoy composing and arranging music, along with creating all forms of visual art. Recently, I added the viola to my repertoire, because it is never too late to start learning an instrument! I am eager to assist anyone who wants to start their strings journey. |
Eliot Crispin - Upright Bass (Strings)
|
Originally from Terre Haute, Indiana, Eliot earned his bachelor's degree in Jazz Performance from Eastern Illinois University. Still, during his first years of college, he started as a music education major. Having taken the core education classes for teaching brass, woodwinds, and strings, he understands and can play a wide breadth of instruments. He has played multiple brass instruments throughout his high school career and continues to pick up a trombone and trumpet to play during his free time. He often performs in town on the Upright Bass, as it is his primary instrument.
He plays and has played a wide variety of music, ranging from Mozart to Dynamo, and has even performed in musical theatre settings. He has also performed across the Midwest United States from Chicago to Nashville and in France during the spring and summer of 2024. Another thing he often does is substitute teach at the middle school and high school levels, utilizing his ability and skills on a variety of instruments to teach in classes and help the students grow. |
