William Ragland is a graduate of the University of Mississippi with a Bachelor of Instrumental Music Education. During undergrad he studied trumpet under John Schuesslin, euphonium under Micah Everette, flute under Amy Wong, and conducting under David Willson. He was an active member of the UM Flute Choir as well as Trumpet Choir and his own jazz group in Jackson, MS. He has played with these groups throughout the United States as well as France, Germany, and Italy.
William has taught private lessons on a variety of instruments, focusing primarily on brass and woodwinds. Being raised in the south, he has a great appreciation for jazz and blues, both in performance and education. His classroom setting is very relaxed, while maintaining focus and drive on the lesson’s goals and preparing the student for success in their musical ambitions.
